Subterranean termites are a highly destructive timber pest, causing major structural timber damage to domestic and commercial buildings in Queensland. Recent industry surveys suggest that about one third of all unprotected properties and decks are subject to attack by termites.
Termites can’t eat steel!
This is why we use steel frames on all our decks, not only are they termite-proof they are stronger and won’t get water damage like timber.
Whilst we use a timber finish it’s the bones that hold it together, I know what I would want if it was my house.
